Tuesday 8th April - travel to Cochin (Kerala)

Today we parted ways with our new friends, after swapping addresses & e-mails with everyone, we jumped on the bus for the airport. We were dropped off first at the domestic airport, said our goodbyes and headed for the check-in desk. As the bags were whisked away it really felt like we were starting a new adventure - off south to Kerala. Quite a long internal flight - 3 hours, and as we were landing all you could see was palm trees - excellent! Transfer to the Old Harbour Hotel was interesting - a nutter driver who loved his horn. An hour later we were at the hotel, with a big sigh of relief. Back to a little bit of paradise...
Mel was really concerned about this hotel, as it is none of the guide books and Ved had not heard of it. However, she soon shut up when we walked in the doors, just as a storm began. The rain bucketed down as we explored this recently restored hotel. It had been bought by a Dutch couple a few years ago and has been restored and opened 13 months ago. It is lovely - the top-rated hotel in Cochin on Tripadvisor (how I selected it) and in the Mr & Mrs Smith guide. We have a suite - with a swing! Dinner was lovely that evening, the kids demolished their food.
